Shawnee High School Art Club Exhibit
Now through November 21st, enjoy artwork on display at The Meeting Place on Market from the Shawnee High School Art Club.
The artworks are example from Shawnee High School's Art Club photography workshop. For the workshop, students used David Hockney as an influence and drew from the style of Cubism in the form of photo montage. Hockney used photo montages and collages to represent human perception more accurately than he thought the camera usually did. He used several viewpoints of the same object or scene to mimic the way the human eye moves across an actual object or scene. After assembling his photographs, the end result was a unified work inspired by Cubism. The students used a variety of subject matter, from portraits to still lifes that they designed and set up themselves. We hope you enjoy the show!
"Meet the artist" reception will be held Friday, September 14th, from 6-8 pm.
Free and open to the public. At The Meeting Place on Market, in downtown Lima, at the corner of Market and West Street.
